Due to this control and monopoly of some private institutions over people’s personal information, the retroactions were of huge impact on individuals’ minds.

When these western companies started investing on attracting everyone to this new place, they also focused on the rest of the world. They saw it as a way of keep spreading western cultural hegemony from the inside, in exchange for “freedom” and “democracy”.
